Sam Sklar

Sklar has established herself as a rising A&R executive, cultivating deep connections with in-demand songwriters, producers and artists and was listed as a "Favorite Publishing & Record Label Executive" by The 100 Percenters in 2021.
Sklar joined Position Music in 2022 and has helped the rising LA-based independent publisher and label build a songwriter roster that currently comprises a handful of notable talent including hit producers Dru "Falconry" DeCaro, Joe Kearns, Zach Skelton and quickly rising songwriter, Jack Lafrantz. Before joining Position Music, Sklar was an A&R at Warner Chappell Music, where she was responsible for a roster of talent that ranged from Ali Payami (The Weeknd, Taylor Swift), Jenna Andrews (BTS, Jessie Murph, Benee), Joe Kirkland (Maroon 5, blackbear), Ristorp (Beyoncé, Little Mix), to artists such as Kygo and Lukas Graham, amongst many others. She also notably signed writer/producer Stephen Kirk, whose co-write breakout record on K-Pop sensation BTS' "Butter" debuted #1 at Top 40 and quickly went double platinum after being released in 2021. Sklar also played an integral role in putting together and placing a number of songs, including Kygo and OneRepublic's platinum-certified "Lose Somebody," which won a 2022 BMI Pop Award as one of the 'Most Performed Songs of the Year.' In addition to her accolades as a publisher, she manages Grammy-nominated artist and songwriter, Hayley Warner (Katy Perry, Dean Lewis, Calum Scott, Chris Stapleton, Kelly Clarkson, etc.)
Prior to moving into music publishing, Sklar spent time on the label side of the business, doing publicity and international marketing for both developing and legacy artists at Universal Music Group in NYC. In 2019, she also founded her management company, Talk to MGMT.
