Angela Leus
Senior Vice President of Film Music, Universal Films
Having worked in the film/TV/trailer music industry for over two decades, Angela Leus is currently Senior Vice President of Film Music at Universal Pictures and supervises all aspects of music on a variety of films, soundtracks and marketing campaigns for the studio, its affiliate production companies and Dreamworks Animation. In her role, she also supports the theme parks, consumer products and live entertainment divisions with their music needs. Past projects include the Trolls and Pitch Perfect franchises, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Straight Outta Compton, Jordan Peele's Us and Nope, Girls Trip and Cocaine Bear. Current and upcoming projects include Kung Panda 4, John Woo’s remake of The Killer and Trolls Band Together.
Angela started her career at Miramax/Dimension Films, where she was involved in film and trailer music licensing, soundtrack marketing and score production, working on projects such as Chicago, Frida, Cold Mountain, Gangs of New York and The Reader. She then held a creative and licensing supervisor role at NBC-Universal Television music, working on promos for the network, Bravo and its affiliates. Before joining Universal, Angela was head of music at Ignition Creative advertising agency, where she worked on a multitude of film marketing campaigns including True Grit, The Social Network, Green Lantern and The Fighter.
A classically-trained pianist, violist and violinist and native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Angela is a member of the Recording Academy, APA@NBC-Universal and Universal Film Entertainment Group’s Inclusion Committee. She is an active alumnus of the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music and currently resides in Los Angeles with partner Ed, son Ronan and two dogs.
