Paxton Fielies, the young 18 year-old from Bishops Lavis in Cape Town, captured the hearts and minds of Idols viewers across South Africa in 2017, when she went on to win the coveted title.
This determined young songstress exceeded fans expectations when she went on to drop three No. 1 singles, an album and tour internationally within her first year of being in the industry.
This sassy young businesswoman is insistent to break the typical Idol winner stigma, and has spent her reigning year breaking markets most fail to break in a lifetime. Her fierce passion for her music and craft was shown when she insisted on writing her own album. She has surrounded herself with top musicians in the industry to formulate a tight music team, to assist in getting her music across to the commercial market. In 2018, she has dominated the South African charts, firstly with a smash hit collaboration "Smother." She teamed up with The Voice winner, Craig Lucas, and the song went No. 1 nationwide on radio and streaming sites. She then went on to release "Angifuni" off of her album, This Is Me, in May 2018. The song is still charting across the country. When it comes to performing, she is superbly versatile, bouncing from a smooth and spine chilling ballads, to dancy pop numbers.
In April 2018, Fielies toured Sweden as part of The World Children's Prize foundation, in plight of raising awareness for Children's rights globally. July 2018, saw her invited to Russia, where the Pop Diva performed as part of the "White Nights of St Petersburg" festival, sharing the bill with the likes of Seal and Kool and The Gang. She has also been invited back to Sweden in 2019 as part of her ambassador role for the "You, Me: Equal Rights" campaign. This year will see her dropping her much anticipated collaboration with Tressor, called "Kiss The Haze."
