Ericka J. Coulter

Ericka J. Coulter

Sr. VP A&R, Warner Records & Founder, TheBasement Series

Senior Vice President of A&R at Warner Records and Founder of TheBasement Series, Ericka Coulter, is one of those instrumental people who connects instantly, a visionary who can make all things become reality and prioritizes her focus on being a voice and advocate of artist discovery and artist development.

Throughout her career, Coulter made her imprint at Epic Records as she spearheaded projects that were pivotal to the success and breakthrough at the label. Her creative expertise from curating camps for different artist and putting together producers with artist were instrumental to some of the biggest artist to date.

During her time at Epic Records she was lead A&R for the Grammy nominated artist Giveon, where she was able to curate studio sessions that brought to life the 3x platinum single Heartbreak Anniversary, which opened the door for his debut platinum selling album Take Time. Continuing to build out her accomplishments, she Co-A&R'd 21 Savage LP album I AM > I WAS where she curated a camp in partnership with Spotify Secret Genius where the Grammy Winning record A Lot ft. J. Cole was born and labeled was one of the most impactful songs of that year. One of Coulter's many highlights includes A&Ring Rick Ross' last 3 albums Rather You Than Me, Port Miami 2 which lead to his RIAA Gold and Grammy nominated single Gold Roses ft. Drake and his latest album Richer Than I Ever Been.

Opening a new chapter at Warner Records, she signed R&B sensation LAYA who has opened up for Teyana Taylor on "The Last Rose tour, Alex Isley on the "MARIGOLD" tour and putting out her critically acclaimed debut EP Um, Hello featuring lead single Brag ft. Fivio Foreign. Coulter shows no signs of slowing down as she builds her story and continues to break artist.

Coulter is more than just an A&R in the building, she is a curator for the LA community and an ear to emerging artist on the rise which is her "Why" for creating performance platform TheBasement Series. A music showcase focused on highlighting emerging artists, where music executives and tastemakers can network, vibe and discover talent. TheBasement Series has had artist such as Platinum selling artist BLXST and Ambre' and Kalan FrFr hit the stage early in their career giving fans a first look at the beginning of their road. Coulter has also been able to bridge a gap between artist on the rise with more established acts who have hit the stage. Such as G Herbo, Kaash Paige and Rich The Kidd, reminding artist and fans why the discovery process is still important. Most recently this year we have seen XXL Freshmen KenTheMan, Fana Hues, rising R&B singer RINI and NY breakthrough artist Lola Brooke and many others.

Ericka Coulter is a vessel to the music industry and a bridge for emerging artist. She uses her skills in and out the building and continues to show us in many ways she cannot be boxed in.
