IVY FLINDT

IVY FLINDT

Origin: Germany
Contact: Micha and Cate

Song: "Seal My Lips"

First up, let's introduce you to Ivy Flindt, the German duo made up of instrumentalist Micha Holland and singer-songwriter Cate Martin. The pair made their debut back in 2018 with 'In Every Move', produced by Per Sunding, Sweden, best known for his work with The Cardigans. Since then they've gone from strength to strength amassing a loyal fanbase and finding themselves booked onto some of Europe's most prestigious festival line-ups. After having met Sat Bisla at their show for Xpo North in Scotland, Cate and Micha got invited to perform at MUSEXPO in Los Angeles.

With the covid-19 pandemic putting somewhat of a spanner in the works, Ivy Flindt has had to get creative with how they could continue to connect with their audience: Early in the pandemic they released a haunting video for their song 'Give It A Break', working together online and offline with L.A. based visual artist Pete Lawrie Winfield, who Cate got in touch with after falling in love with his work for Dido's "Hurricanes". Also Ivy Flindt treated us to numerous online concerts over the past two years including gracing the famous Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg for a full length streaming show. And they performed online for The Great Escape's virtual festival last year and had a 60 minutes concert recorded live by the legendary german tv show WDR Rockpalast, which they then turned into the release of their first live album: 'In Every Move Live At Rockpalast'.

Their music sounds like nordic vastness, with confessions of devotion and retreat while breathing melancholy with every note. Recommended to the fans of Feist, Beth Gibbons of Portishead, Imogen Heap, Sia, The Cranberries and Dido.

In addition to music, Cate is a Hamburg-based visual artist, whose work focuses on painting and photography in the field of abstraction in a pluralist manner, while Micha is also a photographer; both of their artwork is featured in their LP and CD. Ivy Flindt has tallied international airplay throughout the U.S., UK, Australia, Germany, South Africa, South America, India and China.
