ANNA HILDUR HILDIBRANDSDÓTTIR

Programme Director, Nordic Music Export & Chair, European Music Export Exchange

Anna Hildur Hildibrandsdóttir was elected the Chair of European Music Export Exchange, a new strategic network of over 20 European Music Export Offices aimed at increasing the circulation of European repertoire, earlier this year. She has lived in the UK for 25 years, initially working as a London-based correspondent for National media in Iceland from 1992 and freelancing for the BBC and NHK; she went on to launch her own artist management and consultancy company, Hill Media, in 1998. She later worked with several Icelandic and UK bands and set up a UK brand of Icelandic label Smekkleysa.

From 2003 to 2006 Anna consulted for Icelandair and Mr Destiny on building the Iceland Airwaves brand, before taking over its management in 2010 as part of her work as the first MD of Iceland Music Export. In 2012 she left to become Nordic Music Export's first Programme Director and implement its strategies: developing the Nordic Playlist and directing pan-Nordic collaboration projects between the five Nordic export offices.

Anna Hildur was elected the Chair of European Music Export Exchange a network of over 20 European Music Export Offices earlier this year.
