Song: "Lonely (Ft. Melanie Pfirrman)"
For Andreas Moss, pursuing a career in music wasn't so much a choice as a birthright: both his parents and grandparents were traveling musicians, so for all intents and purposes Andreas inherited the family business, touring before he was 10 and singing gospel tunes while navigating his way around the piano. By the time he hit his teen years, Andreas had become a multi-faceted musical collaborator, a "Swiss Army man" of many talents, ghostwriting and directing music videos for a growing community of artists. But it is in his own solo work that the 28-year-old Andreas truly channels the dichotomies of his homeland, as his hook-heavy pop reveals a muse borne of a certain darkness. These aren't breakup songs about the one that got away; they're defiant farewells to the devil on your shoulder. Debut single "Thinking About You" (which received over one million streams within a month of its release) is a case in point: a tune about the intoxicating power of addiction, delving into some of the darker corners of the human psyche. As stated in his bio on the SXSW site, "It's a catharsis set to soaring electronic landscapes, with Moss' anthemic voice rising above giant beats and synth hooks."
