MUSEXPO 2012 UNITES THE WORLD OF MUSIC
The 8th annual A&R Worldwide–produced global music gathering MUSEXPO 2012 was described by many this year as the best music conference ever. With so many outcomes generated already for many of the attendees and artists who participated, the future looks very bright for the global music, media and technology sectors that are engaging with those who act local but think global.
On behalf of the entire A&R Worldwide team (Monte Malone, Joe Arnold, Tyler Polzin, Dusty Bisla, KC Morse, Josh Woodard, Brendon Goldwasser and Sat Bisla) our sincerest thanks and gratitude to everyone who united to help us put on a quality and meaningful event where great people come together for the common good of all things music. We look forward to raising the bar even higher at MUSEXPO 2013 Los Angeles; but first, we look forward to delivering a stellar MUSEXPO Montreal “Essential Beats” October 10 – 12, 2012 in Quebec, Canada.

THE GLOBAL MUSIC INDUSTRY AT MUSEXPO
The MUSEXPO 2012 event in Hollywood received phenomenal feedback from so many of our attendees this year. The event provided a strong sense of optimism, opportunity and priceless networking for those who are looking to do business on a global platform and build relationships that will move their creative and commercial ideals forward in a constantly evolving music ecosystem. Rather than describe MUSEXPO LA 2012 in our own words, we’ve decided to leave it in the words of some of those who attended.
The entire MUSEXPO team is appreciative and humbled by your kind words and participation at this year’s event, which many of the speakers and attendees described as the best MUSEXPO ever and also one of the most essential music conferences in the world for those looking to do business globally. We look forward to seeing you at MUSEXPO 2013 in Los Angeles next spring.
Andy Gould (Founder, Spectacle Group) - Thanks again Sat, great work on the MUSEXPO event this year.
Bastian Christ (Partner, Mec-Early Entertainment, Germany) - I just wanted to thank you for this great week! MUSEXPO was just an amazing experience and we are really glad that we were allowed to be part of this! The organization was just perfect! You should all be very proud!
Billy Schafer (Founder, Billy Schafer Music) – A quick note to say thank you for what you and your team did in putting on MUSEXPO. It was fantastically organized and moderated. I was so impressed and appreciative that you personally went to great lengths to foster discussion amongst artist and industry alike; getting people to connect and talk and discover opportunities to help each other. I forged some genuine and exciting new relationships both on the business and creative side.
Björn Teske (Managing Director, DEAG Music, Germany) – The pleasure and honor is mine and I am very happy about the good reactions. It is unbelieveable how much you transfer your verve and spirit to everybody. Your personal involvement in everything, from newsletter and panels to the announcements of the bands on stage is outstanding and makes MUSEXPO unique. You also have a great team with you. Respect to Monte, Joe and Tyler too. For sure I will help wherever I can to make the upcoming MUSEXPO Europe at least almost a matchable event.
Carel Hoffman (Founder, Hilltop Live Events, South Africa) – The trip has been well worth it (probably one of the most fruitful) of all the conferences I do. You will definitely see us again and I will bring some of the rest of my team next time (project permitting).
Thanks for the warm/open welcome, and be assured of our support of your endeavours.
Chris Cameron (Co–Founder & CEO, SnapStarLive, Worldwide) – A brief note Sat, to congratulate you and your entire team on MUSEXPO 2012. One word – extraordinary!

Daniel Glass (Founder, Glassnote Entertainment Group) – Thank YOU. MUSEXPO was an exhilarating, educational and wonderful music conference!!
David Renzer (Entrepreneur, Former Worldwide Chairman & CEO Universal Music Publishing) – Thanks you. MUSEXPO was good fun and the whole conference seemed very inspired. Well done!

John Melillo (Founder, Melillo Music) – It was a great event and most productive. Thank you so much!
John Rudolph (Principal, Music Analytics) – Everyone, thanks again for a wonderful MUSEXPO event. I look forward to next week.
Jonathan Shalit (Chairman, ROAR Global, UK) – As always Sat a TRIUMPH! Many, many congratulations to you and your team. It’s an honour to know you and be part of your world. You are a pied piper. You bring people together in the most extra ordinary way. Kind regards as ever.
Kathy Spanberger – President & COO, Anglo–American Region, Peermusic, US, Canada, UK & Australia) – It’s always an honor to be a part of your MUSEXPO and to sit with such esteemed panelists.
Khalid Schroeder (President & Founder, Kool Management, Germany) – Thank you so much for your great hospitality and your introduction to so many good people. I really enjoyed my trip to LA and I am very sure everyone else did as well. It was very impressive seeing how much hard work you and your team put into your “baby” and how great it is working now. The way you are setting–up and taking care of your network is a guiding light for me. I hope we all get together soon for the first MUSEXPO Europe in Germany. You will have my support for sure!
Mamie Coleman (Vice President, Music & Production, Fox On–Air Promo) – Thank you for a wonderful day at MUSEXPO! You are one of my favorite family members and I’m so appreciative of your love and support! You are an amazing individual and congrats on another successful event!! You rock!
Maxwell Gosling (Creative Director, Little Ears Music Supervision) – A big thank you to you and your team. I thought that MUSEXPO was really great and was happy to have been a part of it.
Patrick Krutz (Founder, House Band Wines) – It was an honor and a pleasure to attend my 2nd MUSEXPO with you. I saw many familiar faces this time around and the relationships just seem to get stronger as folks open up a bit more the more you get to know each other. We took away some very good contacts and hope to further leverage these relationships as it pertains to partnering for the betterment of both the wine & music communities.
Paul Craig (VP Artist Services, Warner Music, UK) – Awesome event! Congratulations on another great year!
Paul Menes (Founder, Menes Law PC) – As usual, I thought the conference was very well–organized, the panels useful and timely and the music and hangs great. Great job! See you soon.
Rachel Levy (VP Film Music, Universal Pictures) – MUSEXPO was great – and I appreciate you including me!
Rebecca Rienks (Music Supervisor, E! Entertainment/NBC Universal) – Many thanks to you all – I have already found a bunch of great music from MUSEXPO, so I appreciate you including me!
Rick Zeiler (Director of Strategic Marketing, Sidney Frank Importing Co.) – Sat, hat’s off to you and your staff for making MUSEXPO so enjoyable, creative and fun.
Rob Graham (Principal – EON Media, Australasia) – It’s pretty hard to express how much I enjoyed your two conferences in L.A. last week. As someone who used to work in the ad industry, I can really appreciate how much work, long hours, stress and ultimately thoroughly professional organization went into making your two events such a brilliant success. You are a true professional and I was very proud to be part of the Worldwide Radio Summit and MUSXPO. I am also proud to count you as a friend and to feel part of your A&R Worldwide family.
Robert Hicks (Manager, Rachel Sermani, Scotland) – Just a quick note to thank you all and the rest of the team again on behalf of Rachel and I for another wonderful MUSEXPO experience. It really has been incredible being fully involved with the showcasing opportunities this year, from which we’ve gained so many positive leads.
Rochelle Holguin (Music Supervisor, MTV) – Thank you guys so much for putting on an amazing event. I truly appreciate everything you do for the music industry. I was thrilled and honored to be part of MUSEXPO this year. I'm determined to get through all the great music I received (I know there are some gems in there!). And the friendships and relationships I have cultivated over the last few months have been invaluable to me.
Scott McDaniel (Director Music, Fuel TV) – Well done on the panels and overall MUSEXPO event. Glad to hear it went over so great.
Seven Webster (Managing Director, 7PM Management, UK) – I just wanted to say “thank you” for inviting to me to yet again one of the most positive and inspiring music events I have ever attended. To me the music industry is like a slightly dysfunctional family that functions with a common love and passion for a business that we are all privileged enough to work in. To be a part of MUSEXPO 2012 was like attending a Thanksgiving dinner for that extended family where I both managed to catch up with old and good friends while also forging some new too and learned more about the changing shape of our industry through creative discussion while also hearing some great new music and also doing some business too. I left MUSEXPO as positive and inspired and upbeat about our industry and just wanted to say thank you to you your family/ team for the fantastic job you are all doing and making it still great to be a part of the music industry.
Shannon Luttmer (Partner, Independent Arts, Canada) – Wanted to thank you for everything. Your team did a great job organizing all of that! I really took a lot from MUSEXPO and think that everything I learned will really help me moving forward. I think the best part was being able to get the perspective from so many successful people. I loved being able to hear their thoughts. Larry King was probably my favorite! I'll definitely be making an effort to attend again next year. There was so much information packed into those few days, and I'm grateful I was a part of it. Anyway, thanks again.
Tim Schaaff (President, Sony Entertainment Network) – Thanks for including me as a part of MUSEXPO and the keynote panel. It was a lot of fun.

MUSEXPO organizers intend to keep the event intimate, inspiring and informative; after all, this year’s theme is “creativity, inspiration and new business opportunities for those vested in music with a mindset of acting local and thinking global.” The event will retain a similar ethos to the A&R Worldwide networking dinners started back in 2001, which have inspired many other conferences around the world and are the foundation of what MUSEXPO’s ideology is all about. MUSEXPO brings together executives and others vested in sound from the music, media and technology sectors from both within the US and abroad in a personal, interactive and forward–thinking manner. In addition, the conference has organized a stellar line–up of showcasing artists! With hundreds of A&R, publishing, music synch, managers, media, brand executives, booking agents and promoters from around the world attending this year’s MUSEXPO, the expectations are high for many acts to walk away with tangible outcomes, as well as post–signing success, thanks to the development foundation already in place for many of the showcasing artists. In addition, executives attending the event are in for a treat as the diversity of global attendees and companies to network and do business with is the strongest since MUSEXPO launched back in 2005.
In addition, MUSEXPO’s Global Synch & Brands Summit will have over 60 music supervisors from film, TV, games and advertising participating at this year’s event. A few seats are available. To register to attend, click HERE.

MUSEXPO 2012 LOS ANGELES TALENT SPOTLIGHT
An array of top emerging international and US talent is set to arrive in
Hollywood in Los Angeles (the music and entertainment capital of the
world) April 29 – 2 May, 2012 for the annual MUSEXPO at the W Hotel in
Hollywood. This top tier of unearthed global talent will showcase at the
legendary S.I.R. showcase studios in Hollywood on Sunset Blvd. Most of the
talent is available for signing, licensing, booking, legal representation
and/or publishing.
Here’s an overview of some of the international talent that will be
showcasing from April 29 – 2 2012 at S.I.R. studios – the full schedule
will soon be available at www.musexpo.net. For contact details of
management of showcasing acts, please email info@anrworldwide.com.
BLONDE ON BLONDE (Origin: Brisbane, Australia): Brisbane, Australia
natives Blonde On Blonde are a psychedelic indie rock five piece band who
deliver a powerfully erotic musical tenor through salacious male and
female duet vocals. Their passionately mind–bending demo released on their
MySpace helped amass the international music world’s attention, through
their debut track “Oh My, Oh My.” The psych–rock ensemble sought after the
help of Brisbane legendary multi–instrumentalist and producer/mixer Dave
Atkins (Resin Dogs, Wolfmother). With this joining came their debut EP
“Tease”, following many months of mixing and mastering of the eagerly
awaited debut. Their initial EP “Tease” received praise from both street
press and online blogs, including www.whothehell.net. Time Off magazine
slotted Blonde On Blonde for single of the week in September 2009,
surpassing heavyweights Weezer and Jay–Z. Radio station 4ZZZ in local
Brisbane pumped them up to high rotation, which subsequently drew them the
number 1 spot in the Top 20 charts two weeks in a row. Blonde on blonde
also received great honors when they were chosen by fellow psychedelic
rock group Tame Impala to support the Brisbane chapter of their May 2010
tour. Blonde On Blonde continued on their path of victory with playing
alongside Sydney omnipotent Wolfmother, Sugar Army, The Art, and even an
east coast tour with fellow Brisbanites Dead Letter Circus. The band is
available for signing, licensing, publishing, booking and synch
representation. Blonde On Blonde will perform at MUSEXPO 2012 in Hollywood
on Tuesday, May 1st at 9:00PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset Boulevard
in Hollywood.
THE CHEVIN (Origin: Otley, West Yorkshire, England): The Chevin
(pronounced “The Shev–In”) are four young men from Otley, West Yorkshire.
Fans of the West Yorkshire tourist board are already sure to know that The
Chevin is also the name of the hill that surrounds the band’s hometown…and
home is very much where the heart is for The Chevin. Now they are called
The Chevin––and they are about to shake the alt–rock world to its
floundering foundations. The Champion EP, released on Halloween 2011
through Fierce Panda (original label home for Coldplay, Keane), is The
Chevin’s first–ever release. The featured title track is insanely epic,
manically widescreen, heroically uplifting and destined to soundtrack Goal
Of The Month montages, “X Factor” breakdowns and all manner of valedictory
celebrations for years to come. And this, my friends, is just the start,
as 2012 promises bigger and better things for the foursome. They recently
wrapped up a European tour as support for the Pigeon Detectives, will play
several gigs at SXSW and are slated for the Live at Leeds festival in May.
The Chevin are tipped as one of the UK’s biggest buzz acts for 2012 and
are managed by Pete Galli (The Airborne Toxic Event and The Bravery). The
Chevin will perform at MUSEXPO 2012 in Hollywood on Tuesday, May 1st at
9:30PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
LONEHILL ESTATE (Origin: Johannesburg, South Africa): Lonehill Estate is
one of the top live performing bands in South Africa. They burst onto
radio in 2005 with hit singles, “Girl on a Roof” and “Skyward,” charting
on high rotation. In 2007 they were deemed “Best South African Band” and
represented South Africa in London at the Global Battle of the Bands. In
2008, Lonehill Estate released their second studio album, Hong Kong
Dollar, which featured the hit “Memories,” then performed alongside Muse,
Korn, Good Charlotte and 30 Seconds to Mars at the MyCokeFest. In 2009,
Lonehill Estate’s ballad “Forty” was used in the comedy Finding Lenny
starring Barry Hilton. The four–piece had received much criticism for
their music being too eclectic in the past, so from mid–2009 to mid–2010
the band focused on funneling their influences into their new sound,
represented by “Gangstar” and “Techno Band,” which both reached No.1 on
5fm’s (the national S. African radio network) local Pop chart. Now
Lonehill’s strategy is to release digital singles as opposed to a full
album in order to create an infinite production line that pumps out
cutting–edge music, with new singles in the pipeline that are sure to
impress. The group is available for licensing, sub–publishing, booking and
synch licensing. Lonehill Estate will perform at MUSEXPO 2012 in Hollywood
on Monday, April 30th at 8:00PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset
Boulevard in Hollywood.
THE FLUXX (Origin: Oslo, Norway): How do five young, good–looking guys in
the 21st Century’s ever–evolving music industry earn the respect and
support of notoriously fickle music critics and producers? Not to mention
the hordes of screaming girls along the way?
The Fluxx seems to be going about it the right way. These fresh-faced boys from Oslo, norway made up of lead singer Daniel, guitarist Stephan, Bassist Iver, keyboardist Jan and a Drummer named Lars, were never daunted by hard work or accused of a lack of perseverance. The lads have been described by
many fans as a modern day fresh version of multi–Platinum Norwegian act
A–Ha. The Fluxx have concentrated all their attention on drawing notice
not only in their native land but also globally. They’ve done this through
relentless gigging in their native Oslo and support slots with
multi–platinum Eurovision artist Alexander Rybak, and will be expanding
their profile through performances in the UK in the coming months. The
group’s debut single, “Take You Back,” has recently been serviced to U.S. Specialty Radio. The band’s
strength is the global pop sound and energetic live performance. The Fluxx
is available for worldwide signing, licensing, publishing, booking and
synch representation. The Fluxx will perform at MUSEXPO 2012 in Hollywood
on Sunday, April 29th at 8:00PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset
Boulevard in Hollywood.
LIFE DOWN HERE (Origin: Las Vegas, Nevada USA): Life Down Here began when
16–year–old guitarist Michelle Blanchard (now 19) dropped out of high
school to pursue music and quickly gained notoriety for her playing.
Shortly after leaving school Michelle began writing songs about the darker
side of her hometown, Las Vegas. Soon after, she met bass player and
songwriter Eli Shkurkin at a local rock show and they began to write songs
together under the moniker “Lights Don’t Shine Down Here.” Jeff Dennis
(guitar) and Nick Adams (drums) heard a demo tape and joined the band in
2011.
After playing only a few shows in Las Vegas and Los Angeles the group was
discovered by super producer Jay Baumgardner (Evanescence, Papa Roach,
Drowning Pool). Jay signed them to his label, NRG Artists, with the
shortened name ‘Life Down Here’ and for the past year the quartet has been
writing songs with Marcos Curiel (P.O.D) and Jason Evigan (After Midnight
Project). The band’s sound can be described as modern rock (Paramore) with
a metal edge (Metallica). In June 2011, Life Down Here began recording
their debut album at NRG Studios with Jay Baumgardner producing and
mixing. The new 11–track album The Beginning is now up on iTunes,
featuring songs “All That You Are” and “Seven Letters.” The four–piece is
currently available for licensing, publishing, booking, management and
synch representation. Life Down Here will perform at MUSEXPO 2012 in
Hollywood on Sunday, April 29th at 11:00PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465
Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
NOVA DELAI (Origin: Malmo, Sweden): With the current wave of successful
female artists across the globe, it’s quite evident that a talent such as
Nova Delia is sure to follow the successful footsteps of European artists
like Adele (England), Caro Emerald (Holland) and newcomer Birdy (signed to
Warner Music, UK), all of whom blend infectious vintage sounds with modern
day pop music nuances. Nova Delia (real name Michelle Zarati) is a Swedish
recording artist, musician and writer. At age six, Nova Delia began to
play classical music on the piano and started getting interested in
playing guitar at the same age. Her daily childhood was surrounded by
music and she started writing songs at the age of 10. She later attended
Rytmus Music School in Sweden (where she will graduate next year) and is
currently working on recording her debut album. Nova is already garnering
strong publisher and agent interest worldwide and will do her debut N.
American show at MUSEXPO this year. Nova Delai is currently available for
worldwide signing, licensing, publishing, booking and synch
representation.
Nova Delai will perform at MUSEXPO 2012 in Hollywood on Sunday, April
29th at 8:30PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

BBC INTRODUCING GOES INT’L AND DEBUTS AT MUSEXPO
Building on its opportunities for under-the-radar talent, BBC Introducing has announced that it is taking four artists to this year’s A&R Worldwide’s MUSEXPO event, one of the industry’s most well-connected calendar dates. BBC Introducing was the launching pad (in many cases pre-signing, pre-publishing and pre-booking deals) for acts such as Florence & The Machine, Ting Tings and many others.
The BBC announced in a press release last week, “That in partnership with the Performing Rights Society (PRS) for Music Foundation's British Music Abroad scheme, BBC Introducing is giving four unsigned artists, who all uploaded their music at www.bbc.co.uk/introducing, the opportunity to perform to some of the music industry’s biggest names at MUSEXPO, which is held from May 1-4, 2011.
Hailing from Leicester, urban singer-songwriter Luke Bingham will join Liverpool alternative-acoustic artist Luke Fenlon and Welsh electro-pop outfits Friends Electric and Man Without Country in Los Angeles next month during the MUSEXPO industry showcases for labels, publishers, booking agents, music supervisors, media from the US and around the world.

The journey that these four artists experience will be captured for a special documentary, which will be broadcast on BBC Radio 1 later this year. From their pre-trip preparations and their hopes and fears about the event, it will capture their first impressions of Hollywood and their final performances. It will also feature interviews with the panel that selected these artists, discussing their choices and also the current new music market.
Jason Carter, Editor, BBC Introducing, says, “BBC Introducing International has enabled us to give another fantastic opportunity for new UK musicians. Our aim is to support new UK talent with unique exposure, and these acts have been selected to play by the cream of the US recording industry. It will be great for those artists selected and there will be a Radio 1 documentary about their experiences which will give useful insights to other new artists in the UK.”
Luke Bingham added, “I’m really excited about the opportunity to go to LA with BBC Introducing and perform in front of some of the biggest people in music. My ultimate dream has always been to be an international music artist and now I’ve got this chance to take my music over to America, alongside some of best of the UK’s rising stars.”
The four artists were selected via a panel of US music industry individuals, including Craig Kallman, Chairman/CEO Atlantic Records Group; Kevin Weatherly, Sr. VP Programming CBS Radio & VP Programming KROQ Los Angeles & Jack-FM Los Angeles; Steve Schnur, Worldwide Head of Music & Marketing, EA Games and Troy Carter, Chairman & CEO Atom Factory (worldwide manager of Lady Gaga).
A&R Worldwide Head Sat Bisla said, “A&R Worldwide is an independent new music discovery and development platform and is very excited to have BBC Introducing present some of the UK’s most promising new ‘export ready’ talent at this year’s MUSEXPO Los Angeles. MUSEXPO brings together the global music community, who will undoubtedly be inspired by the plethora of great new talent - we anticipate some great outcomes for these British acts.”
Troy Carter, Chairman and CEO, Atom Factory (worldwide manager for Lady Gaga) commented, “BBC Radio 1 is one of the world’s most respected and influential broadcasters. Their ability to break new music is unprecedented. I’m excited to have been asked to play a part in the exciting BBC Introducing process of selecting some of Britain's best new talent to share with the US and global music industry at MUSEXPO in Los Angeles.”
2011 has already proved a success for BBC Introducing. The Musicians' Masterclass, which was held across Abbey Road and Maida Vale Studios on 3 February, saw 250 musicians from across the UK connect with big UK artists (Mark Ronson, Tinchy Stryder, Calvin Harris) and top industry professionals from the BBC, the media, live music and recording industries as well as a host of BBC DJs.
In addition, since January, BBC Radio 1 has added a BBC Introducing artist to their daytime playlist, offering invaluable exposure. It will continue to highlight these artists each week this year. BBC Introducing has also been nominated at this year’s Sony Awards in the Best Use of Multiplatform category.

MUSEXPO 2011 LOS ANGELES TALENT SPOTLIGHT
An array of top emerging international and US talent is set to arrive in Hollywood in Los Angeles (the music and entertainment capital of the world) next month for the 7th annual MUSEXPO at the W Hotel in Hollywood. This top tier of unearthed global talent will showcase at the legendary S.I.R. showcase studios in Hollywood on Sunset Blvd. Most of the talent is available for signing, licensing, booking, legal representation and/or publishing.
Here’s an overview of some of the international talent that will be showcasing from May 1-4 2011 at S.I.R. studios – the full conference and showcase schedule is now available at www.musexpo.net.
AURA (Origin: Copenhagen, Denmark): Danish chanteuse Aura is truly a citizen of the world--the first seven years of her life were spent sailing the high seas on her parents’ boat! But she’s actually from the small, rocky Danish island of Bornholm, trapped in the waters between southern Sweden, Germany and the Baltic countries. Aura writes all her own music and lyrics, with influences ranging from Dolly Parton and Tracy Chapman to Antony & the Johnsons and Jeff Buckley. Though only a tender 22 years of age, she’s already drawn comparisons to Feist, Shania Twain and Gwen Stefani--while tackling darker subject matter than the average pop singer. “But also simple love songs and poems--I want to bring it all, no censorship,” she says. “I’ll camouflage it in simple pop melodies and hope that it will reach the masses. I write with humor and irony and with a wish to make a positive difference with my music and my voice, my life, while I’m here.” The critics seem to appreciate this approach: Berlingske, the Danish equivalent of the Herald Tribune, raved, “One of the best Danish debuts ever... already the world star she deserves to be.” Aura is currently available for signing, licensing and booking in multiple territories. Aura will perform at MUSEXPO 2011 in Hollywood on Tuesday, May 3rd at 7:30PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
MOYCANO (Origin: Lisbon, Portugal): Moycano is a Portuguese singer/songwriter who always had the dream of becoming a professional singer. Looking for an international career, he moved from Lisbon to London in September 2007. After years of honing his craft, 2011 is starting very well for the artist, who is very busy preparing the show for his international multi-city “album release party,” taking place in the cities of Lisbon, London, New York and Los Angeles. Dawn is a debut album full of stories and it is the reason behind the creation of this international initiative. Moycano still believes in his dream, now more than ever. Asked why the name Moycano, he replied, “Tribes live from the soul and from the nature. My music evolves in that way, similarly to the involvement of nature. It's the natural process of creation which happens like the bloom of a flower, naturally!” The artist has musical influences such as George Michael, Michael Jackson, Queen and The Beatles, and also artists like Prince, Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers and James Brown; combining all those diverse influences, Moycano has developed a unique style of his own. Moycano is currently available for signing, licensing, publishing and booking in multiple territories. Moycano will perform at MUSEXPO 2011 in Hollywood on Wednesday, May 4th at 8:00PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
MY FICTION (Origin: Brisbane, Australia): Things are really starting to happen for powerhouse four-piece My Fiction. But if you have been around their hometown of Brisbane, Australia anytime in the past year, you could see it coming, the buzz steadily building, the shows getting bigger and the band growing in confidence. Armed with a brilliant new record and an impressive live show, My Fiction is making good on the promise they’ve shown since emerging onto the local scene. The sound is indie rock without the baggage. My Fiction knows what makes people move and how to connect. The big guitars, bigger melodies and powerful bottom end all combine to make something immediate, but with depth. Lyrically powerful, their songs leave plenty of room for emotional connection. Little wonder they find inspiration through artists as diverse as Bowie, Midnight Juggernauts, Battles and Regurgitator. It’s music that speaks of dark and mischievous romance, heartbreak, missing the last train home and taking your BMX for a joyride in the suburbs. As Rolling Stone recently put it, “My Fiction's music brings to mind less the sun-drenched suburbs of Brisbane and more the cold streets of London…Whether this juxtaposition of shoe-gazing and youthful enthusiasm works is academic, because My Fiction can really write hooks.” The band is currently available for signing, licensing, booking and publishing. My Fiction will perform at MUSEXPO 2011 in Hollywood on Tuesday, May 3rd at 8:30PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
RUBYLUX (Origin: Brighton, England): The phrase “Britain’s best-kept secret” gets used to describe a lot of new bands, usually wildly inaccurately, for groups which have yet to play outside their rehearsal rooms. Yet how else are Rubylux to be labeled? Here, after all, is a remarkable act which has already released its own live DVD; has a thriving official fanclub with an ever-growing number of disciples paying a £10 annual subscription; who are one of the few Western bands to have toured Vietnam; whose songs have been played on “Heroes” and “Neighbours;” and whose spontaneous “Street Gigs” earned them enough money to fund recording their debut album with James Sanger, producer of Madonna, U2 and Manic Street Preachers. Those feats may be impressive, but they’re not as impressive as Rubylux’s soaring music. Distilled perfectly into the 45 minutes of debut album Fake Control, it’s a sound that swerves passionately from the universal anthems of “The Boy Could Fly” and “Gold Rush” via the political fire of “They Sold You” and “Westminster” to the thunderous, harsh rock on “I Want You” and “Heart Made by Machines.” Thanks to support from A&R Worldwide last year the band inked a worldwide deal with BMG Rights for publishing; however, they’re still available for signing in multiple markets worldwide. Rubylux will perform at MUSEXPO 2011 in Hollywood on Wednesday, May 4th at 9:30PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

A MILLION YEARS (Origin: Brooklyn, New York USA): A Million Years is a Brooklyn-based four piece who are making music for your grey matter. Stimulated by the intellectualism and sonic experimentation of bands like Radiohead, Spoon and Wilco, they strive to create a world of smart, brooding characters wandering around in our digitized soundscape. Their debut full-length album, Mischief Maker, was released in July 2010 and was produced by Shannon Ferguson of the band Longwave. On the record, A Million Years wear their love of guitar-driven indie- rock on their sleeve. Mischief Maker also touches on sonic elements found in electronic music, using drum machines alongside real drums and synthesizers alongside the guitars and bass to create a sound that is dense but also feels organic. Formed in early 2007, A Million Years began as a sort of revolving door with an ever-changing list of band members hashing out the songs born in Keith Madden’s (vocals/guitar) bedroom. Andrew Samaha (bass/vocals), Andrew Vanette (drums/vocals) and Nick Werber (guitar/vocals) later joined to create a collective of passionate, music-obsessed workaholics. A Million Years has toured extensively throughout the east coast and in venues all around New York City, while also receiving national airplay on radio stations such as NYC's WRXP, WEQX and WKZQ.
A Million Years will perform at MUSEXPO 2011 in Hollywood on Sunday, May 1st at 8:30PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
ANTOINE GRATTON (Origin: Montreal, Quebec, Canada): Born and raised in Montreal’s Notre-Dame-de-Grâce district, Antoine Gratton started his musical career singing with Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal. He started playing piano in high school and expanded to the bass and guitar. He recorded his first songs in a makeshift studio in his room. A friend who felt that Antoine’s talents were too good to be left undiscovered sent a demo tape to Tacca Music, which contacted Antoine days later to offer a recording contract. Antoine immediately began writing the other songs that would be included in his 2003 debut album, Montréal Motel. The record’s success brought Antoine in contact with many Quebecois artists including Éloi Painchaud, who would become his alter-ego. This partnership helped him evolve both personally and musically and he went on to produce a new album in 2006, Il était une fois dans l’est, a much closer representation of his true emotions and nature. Antoine then embarked on a two-year tour during which he performed over 200 shows and earned a Juno Award in 2007 for Best Francophone Album. He hit home with his third opus, Le problème avec Antoine, released in February 2009 by Sphere Musique. This explosive, rhythmic, vibrant and touching album propelled him to new heights. Antoine Gratton will perform at MUSEXPO 2011 in Hollywood on Tuesday, May 3rd at 8:00PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
APRIL DIVINE (Origin: Umeå, Sweden): For a group that’s been together for a decade now, the hard-rockin’ Swedish four-piece April Divine is surprisingly reticent about discussing their past. This despite the fact that they quickly caught the attention of the discerning ears at P3, Sweden’s biggest rock radio station, whose listeners voted the group “Best Unsigned Swedish Rock Band.” It also conveniently ignores the legions of energetic, sing-along audiences that rabidly populate some of the biggest festivals and venues in their native land, courtesy of a booking arrangement with touring behemoth Live Nation…and even their debut effort, the aptly titled Chapter One, which was released through Ninetone Records/Universal Records Sweden in January 2007 to rapturous reviews, receives seemingly short shrift. However, even a single listen to the group’s sophomore effort, Redemption, swiftly explains their preference for peering forward. Whether it’s the monstrous guitar riffs percolating throughout songs like album opener “No One” and “Water and Wine,” the magnum opus “Copycat” and the anthemic “Alibi,” or the gorgeous piano melodies and haunting lyrical phrases of numbers like “Redemption” and the panty-moistening ballad “Faced Down,” April Divine’s new work represents the culmination of a decade’s worth of blood, sweat and beer-stained gigging throughout Scandinavia. April Divine will perform at MUSEXPO 2011 in Hollywood on Monday, May 2nd at 11:30PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
DZHAM (Origin: Moscow, Russia): Moscow might seem a strange place to procure a rising hip-hop star…but truth is stranger than fiction. The dynamic, twenty-something Dzham is determined to become Russia’s first international hip-hop star. He’s off to a good start, having released four full-length albums in his homeland along with a bevy of videos featured on MTV Russia, all the while collaborating with the most famous Russian DJs and artists--all without being signed to any music label. However, Dzham isn’t one to give up without a fight. After moving to Moscow from his birthplace of Smolensk as a child, he noticed both the good and bad sides of the Russian way of life: dark suburbs and luxury clubs, family problems and a pervasive criminal atmosphere in his town. All that influenced him to become a rap artist; his self-written lyrics are based on the things that surround him every day. Dzham’s arrival on the Russian and European rap scene has marked the beginning of a new era in rap music, with Dzham himself proclaiming that he is about peace not war. His light, soft sound and tunes and distinctive voice, coupled with hints of ’90s old school, have all put Dzham in the running as one of the most outstanding and potentially successful new names in rap/pop and already is securing licensing deals worldwide for numerous of his potentially massive global hit singles. Dzham will perform at MUSEXPO 2011 in Hollywood on Monday, May 2nd at 11:00PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
INGRID OLAVA (Origin: Lillehammer, Norway): In March 2008 Ingrid Olava released her debut album, Juliet’s Wishes, to both commercial and critical acclaim. It quickly reached Gold status in her native Norway and garnered three Norwegian Grammy nominations, for “Best New Artist,” “Female Artist of the Year” and “Best Song” (“Back to Love”). In February 2010 she followed up that success with her sophomore effort, The Guest, released on her own Daring Viola label through Universal. The album reached No.2 on the Norwegian album charts, No.1 on iTunes and Ingrid received the Best Female award at the 2011 Norwegian Grammys for The Guest. She released the. Please Welcome EP in November 2010 as her first international release, receiving a warm reception from the European media including NME.com, Sunday Times Culture, Monocle, Music Week, Line Of Best Fit and Drowned in Sound, which proclaimed, “So she’s pretty, she’s petite, and she wears those hip-sailor-cut flares. Oslo's Ingrid Olava has that whole quaintly-cool-Feist-on-a-piano thing going on. There’s absolutely no reason why she shouldn’t be the Next Big Thing.” She toured the UK in support of the EP, including shows at the Royal Festival Hall and Purcell Rooms at London’s South Bank. Ingrid is currently writing and recording for her next album and will be releasing a second international EP in June 2011. Ingrid Olava will perform at MUSEXPO 2011 in Hollywood on Monday, May 2nd at 9:00PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
KAILE GOH (Origin: Singapore, but has lived in Los Angeles for the last decade): Born in Singapore, Kaile Goh spent her first five years there before moving to Los Angeles. In L.A. she began modeling for Ford Modeling as a kid, becoming a go-to face for Disney, Target, Kodak, Mattel, Sony and others due to her innate, natural beauty and inimitable presence. With the money she made from modeling, she bought a Gibson Hummingbird guitar, which she still constructs all of her songs on. The songs started pouring out of her at age 10, though. Kaile could barely fret the Hummingbird, but her mom would take her to local open mic nights where she would perform originals to stunned audiences of regulars. In 2010, she landed a meeting with Lava President Jason Flom. Playing three songs acoustically for Flom in a room at The Beverly Hills Hotel at last year’s MUSEXPO, he signed her on the spot. Before she knew it, she was in New Jersey with producer David Bendeth (Paramore, Breaking Benjamin) recording her first album, with the 15-year-old infusing attitude into each and every tune she writes and sings. First single “Gold” teems with a raw, real energy as Kaile carries the chorus with style, spirit and sincerity. Her voice rolls from arena-ready hooks into pulsating, propulsive verses that could bring any crowd to its feet. Kaile Goh will perform at MUSEXPO 2011 in Hollywood on Tuesday, May 3rd at 11:00PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
MANNA (Origin: Helsinki, Finland): Born in Paris to a Finnish mother and an Algerian father but now based in Helsinki, Finland, Mariam "Manna" Jäntti has been releasing music since 2008. Following the UK/Finnish release of Manna’s critically acclaimed album Songs of Hope and Desire in early 2010, she has been working on new material and will be recording with acclaimed producer Alain Johannes (Arctic Monkeys, QOTSA, Eleven, No Doubt) in spring 2011 for the release of a new album in September 2011. Mixing influences from over the decades, Manna effortlessly combines musical elements from punk rock to dreamy folk, creating a unique and powerful sound. She has already garnered great attention from the UK press, with Mojo stating, "Striking is Manna, looking like a cross between Charlotte Gainsbourg and Patti Smith. Blending PJ Harvey’s stomp with CSS’s dance moves is audacious, and it's clear she's ready to cross borders," while Classic Rock Magazine raved, “There's a lot of New York in there, given the terrific, narcotic ‘Truth Song’ and ‘Holy Dirty Game.’ But that’s only part of the story. Her magpie instincts make room for ’60s girl-group pop, highly atmospheric ballads, and the kind of hoodoo vamp rock that's been bubbling up from basements since kids first learned to plug in a guitar.” Manna is available for publishing, label and synch opportunities. Manna will perform at MUSEXPO 2011 in Hollywood on Monday, May 2nd at 10:00PM at S.I.R. Studios at 6465 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
